Scholarships
Apply for a scholarship! SIU uses the Saluki Scholarship Portal to help make applying for scholarships easier. You simply reating an account and log in with your SIU student credentials. Fill out the form and press submit. Then our portal will match you to any scholarship you qualify for.
If you’re matched to a scholarship with special questions or additional instructions, you’ll be notified and able to complete them. In 5 steps, you can apply for more than 600 scholarships available through SIU. (or visit here if the scholarship page has a better description?)
- Got to siu.academicworks.com
- Click on the "Sign In" button in the top right corner.
- On the “Applicants and Administrators” tab click on the “Sign In With Your Institution.”
- Log into the system using your SIU Network ID and Password.
- Complete the general application. The application can be completed in one setting or you may save it and finish it later. However, you must complete the application by midnight on December 1st.
Here’s a list of scholarships OLID majors may qualify for:
- Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) Organization of Carbondale Scholarship (WED)
- Undergraduate student(s) with sophom*ore or junior status
- Declared major in Workforce Education Development
- Applicants must be enrolled for at least six or more hours
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Women who are non-traditional students
- Residents of Illinois including those studying at off-campus sites, located in Illinois
- Those with financial need
- Applicants with a GPA of 2.5 to 3.5.
- Frank Cluck, Sr. Technology Education Scholarship
- The student must be from Illinois or be from a state qualified for in-state tuition rates
- Must be majoring in Workforce Education and Development
- Must have a financial need
- Must be in academic good standing
- The student must be registered each semester for the scholarship to credit their bursar account.
- Wayne S. Ramp Vocational Education Endowment Scholarship
- Marita A. Weaver Scholarship
- U.S. residents
- Applicants who reside in Alexander, Gallatin, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, or Williamson counties in Southern Illinois
- Those with financial need
- W. Russell Withers, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
- Workforce Education and Development Scholarship
- Recipients must be majoring in Workforce Education and Development
- Must have 3.0 or higher cumulative undergraduate GPA
- Shall have been accepted in the WED Master’s degree program.
- WED Excellence Award
- Summer Incentive Scholarship
- Be an SIU Undergraduate student
- Applicants must be enrolled for at least 3 or more summer credit hours (online, on-campus or off-campus) before May 31.
- Apply by May 31
- Extended Campus Scholarship
- Hours currently enrolled must be greater than or equal to 6
- Gross need must be greater than 0
- Fafsa must include Y
- Cumulative GPA must be greater than or equal to 2.0
- Site must not include Carbondale Campus, Off Campus, Springfield, IL or Web-based distance learning
- Community College of the Air Force Scholarship
- Enrolled at Dover Air Force Base, Joint Base Charleston, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, or Scott Air Force Base
- Admissible to the University or in good standing with a 2.0 or higher transfer GPA
- Registered for at least 6 off-campus or online credit hour courses at SIUC
- Must have received a Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree within the most recent calendar year
The Business and Professional Women’s Organization of Carbondale Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant based upon the following criteria:

A recipient of the scholarship may apply for renewal of the scholarship, but no special preference shall be given to such an applicant. Renewal applications shall be considered equal with all other applications.
The Frank Cluck, Sr. Technology Education Scholarship offers an award to a student from a community college transferring into SIU Carbondale with a junior credit status.
The Wayne S. Ramp Workforce Education and Development Endowed Scholarship is offered to a graduate student in Workforce Education and Development. Preference is given to a student with documented educational leadership

Applicant must be a graduate student in the Department of Workforce Education and Development in the School of Education.
Preference given to applicants that are:
Preference shall be given to a student who currently holds a bachelor’s degree from any WED off-campus site and has been admitted to the WED Master of Science in Education degree concentration.
Open to all applicants with the following qualifications, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
The WED Excellence Award is offered to students who have attained academic excellence in one of the two Workforce Education and Development (WED) undergraduate specializations or the Master of Science in Education or Doctor of Philosophy in Education WED graduate concentrations.
The Summer Incentive Scholarship opportunity is available for the Summer semester at SIU Carbondale. If you are interested in taking courses this summer through SIU Carbondale, complete the scholarship application before May 31, 2023. The award is valued at $642.50.

We are pleased to announce our SIU Extended Campus Scholarships for fall, spring and summer semesters! We will award two $250 scholarships at each SIU off-campus location during each semester who meet the qualification below.
