Dollar Tree Prices…Going Up Again??

Dollar recently announced in their Q4 2023 Earnings Call that they're planning to offer more of an expanded assortment of items, and in turn will be making changes to their prices. This year, at over 3,000 stores, Dollar Tree plans to expand their multi-price assortment by over 300 items at price points ranging from $1.50 to $7.

This new price cap is a $2 increase from the $5 ceiling that was set last June.

With a focus on adding new items, more choices, and more savings, the company believes that these changes will allow them to present a more relevant assortment and attract new and higher income shoppers.

However, as their multi-price assortment expands over time, the company said that the majority of items will remain at the $1.25 price point.

The company mentioned seeing success in adding higher priced foods this year – like frozen foods and refrigerated items for $3, $4, and $5, which are now available at more than 6,500 Dollar Tree stores. The $3 and $5 center-store merchandise is now available at approximately 5,000 Dollar Tree stores and plans to expand to 2,000 stores in 2024.

This recent price increase comes shortly after Dollar Tree Inc., who also owns Family Dollar, announced the closure of more than 1,000 stores nationwide.

What do you think about this news??

Dollar Tree Plus – What is it??

Dollar Tree has a center section at select stores called “Dollar Tree Plus” that offers oodles of $3 and $5 items (soon to be up to $7!) ~ sort of like a mix between Five Below and Dollar Tree!

This center section has been tested in select markets and is now available in over 5,000 Dollar Tree stores. Dollar Tree plans to add these sections to at least 2,000 stores by the end of fiscal 2024.

Dollar Tree in my opinion is pretty decent in the food section. However Dollar Geneneral beats them in the 1.00 section which includes snacks, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc and cleaning supplies with a good quantity for a 1.00. Ex…1gallon of bleach will cost you a 1.00. Not at Dollar tree, quantity is smaller and 1.25. My opinion. Ty

I try to go to Dollar General before I go to Dollar Tree. D.G. has a lot of the same holiday decorations, craft supplies and the clear plastic trays everyone uses for lids for only $1.

Sometimes the price looks like a deal compared to Walmart but if you pay close attention, the item may be a smaller size or less ounces than Walmart’s.

You really have to be careful. I bought some Dove bars and there were four bars in the box which was just enough for us all to have one (watching the sugar!). I nearly keeled over when they range up for $5! I knew they would not be $1 but wasn’t expecting that much!

I think it’s a horrible thing Dollar tree was a dollar you could find very nice things for a dollar it doesn’t matter how much money you have people are looking for a bargain this $7 thing is no bargain. As far as I’m concerned if you’re going to charge more than a dollar then you’re in the wrong spot change your name from Dollar tree to high priced Aries
